Martha Caroline Miller (nee Heymans), 94, formerly of Crystal Lake, was born on June 28, 1922 to Peter and Lucy (nee Vergauwen) Heymans in St. Jansteen, Netherlands and passed away peacefully on May 19, 2017 in Woodstock, Illinois. Martha was the devoted wife of the late Charles Miller; loving mother of Donna (Allan) Nelson, Stephen Miller, and Kenneth (Camille) Miller; cherished grandmother of Matthew (Joseph Kresch) Nelson, Melissa Nelson, Charles (Joan) Miller, Sarah (Adam) Simmons, Zachary (Rebekah) Miller and Emily (Cody) Fawbush; great-grandmother of Benjamin Fawbush; sister to the late Paul (June) Heymans and Levina (Robert) Meinken; aunt to many nieces. Eastgate Manor of Algonquin was Martha’s home for the past four years. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Crystal Lake, LITH Seniors, Crystal Lake Seniors, and St. Margaret Mary Ever So Young, and a founding member of St. Em’s Gems in Mount Prospect. Some of her favorite hobbies included sewing, knitting, gardening and reading. Visitation for Martha will be held on Tuesday, May 23, from 3-8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. On Wednesday, May 24, friends and family will gather at the funeral home at 10:00am until prayers are said at 10:30am. Mass will be at 11:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment will be at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
