Martha Stanczak

Martha F. Stanczak, 80, entered into her new life, Sunday, November 4, 2012 in Woodstock. She was born February 28, 1932 to Edwin and Frances M. Bay in Springfield, Illinois.

With a kind and giving nature, Martha enjoyed volunteering and was active with several organizations including the Sandpipers Newcomers Community Group in Florida, Tri Delt Sorority, the philanthropic educational group, P.E.O., as well as her church. She loved to entertain for friends, was known for baking pies, and loved a good game of bridge. Martha had also attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was a loving mother to Sandra L. (Jim) Meyer, Janet E. (Tom) Powell, David B. (Sue) Lundeen; devoted grandmother to Brian (Kayla) Meyer, Michael Meyer, Julie (Luke) Kyle, Jennifer Powell, Ashley Powell, Brandy Lundeen, and Dalton Lundeen; great-grandmother to Payton, Liam, Gavin, Lily; and close to brother, Donald (Joan) Bay; she had many adoring nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lundeen, whom she married on December, 1951, her second husband, Stanley Stanczak whom she married in July, 1976, and her first child, infant baby Mark.

There will be a memorial service and celebration of Martha’s life on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave, (Rte. 176) Crystal Lake, from 2pm to 6pm with a service at 5pm.
