Lake Barrington, Illinois,The Mass of Christian Burial for Mary H. Blume (nee Higgins), 75, formerly of Crystal Lake, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010, at St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin Street), Barrington, where there will be visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. A luncheon will immediately follow. Father Tom Bishop will officiate. Burial will be private at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Born February 26, 1935, in Chicago, she passed away Monday, March 15, 2010, at her home, after battling breast and ovarian cancers. Mrs. Blume was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked for Paulson Picture Foods, where she was a Food Stylist, and was a volunteer manager for 18 years of Little Christopher?s Resale Shop, of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, in Crystal Lake. Mrs. Blume was an avid seamstress, knitter, and needle-work artist. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her husband in Vero Beach, Florida. Survivors include her husband, Paul, whom she married June 28, 1958, in Oak Park; children, Nancy (Larry) Lannan of LaGrange Park, Paul (Hollis) of Lake Bluff, William (Ellen) of West Dundee, and Julie (Dan) Clune of Naperville; grandchildren, Sean and Laura Lannan, Jack and Lissy Blume, Jonathan, Liam, and Claire Blume, and Brian, Kevin, and Patrick Clune; and sister, Nancy Theisen. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Naan (nee Lane) Higgins; and brother-in-law, Henry Theisen.
