Mary Ruth Borrero

Mary Ruth Borrero, 69, of Crystal Lake, was born March 4, 1949 in Isaban, WV to Mildred (James) Boothe. She passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018. She passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in Woodstock, IL.

Mary was raised in the state of Kentucky, everyone that knew her understood her deep love for the state and her family that reside there, which she was happy to share through her colorful stories. She loved music, playing cards, dancing and gardening. Mary gave her love freely to everyone she came in contact with,  and accepted all in need into her heart and home; man, woman, or child. She also accepted any furry, feathered and four legged baby that crossed her path. She adored her family and all those who became family though love. Mary showed her love though special home cooked meals and hand knitted baby blankets for new arrivals.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Ramon Borrero; her children, Raymond Borrero, and Sonia (Martin) Rivera; her grandchildren, Juan Ray (Kristen) Borrero, Hector David Borrero, Christopher Martin Rivera, and Sabrina Elise Rivera; her great grandchildren, Kira Abigail Borrero, Gabriel Michael Borrero, and Jeremiah Jacob Borrero; her siblings, Ester Kay (the late Bob) Kirk, and Alberta Sue (Ricky) Crumb; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Ann Boothe and Billie Jean Chodzko; and her parents.

A celebration of Mary’s life will take place on Sunday, April 8, 2018. An open house memorial will take place at her home; 549 Eletson Drive in Crystal Lake, IL from 1-7:00 p.m. All are welcome to come and pay respects and support each other during this difficult time.

Mary will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Inez, Kentucky.
