Mary Josephine Cronk, 84, a resident of Cherry Valley for 30 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday February 17, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family. Mary Jo was born October 8, 1939, in Wausau, WI., the daughter of Frank and Adeline (Pergolski) Fierek.
Mary Jo married her high school sweetheart William Blaine Cronk on May 7, 1957, at St. Michael Church in Wausau, Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Rita Church in Rockford, IL. Mary Jo loved camping; sewing; crafting and doll houses. She was very passionate and had a great love for all animals. She loved watching and feeding the birds and squirrels in her backyard. Whenever she sat in the grass and looked, she could always find a four-leaf clover. Mary Jo was the best cheerleader at all of her grandchildren’s sporting and musical events, they were her pride and joy. Mary Jo enjoyed good food and loved to recommend places to go to for dinner. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother cherished by her family and friends.
Mary Jo is survived by her daughters, Christine Cronk and Susan (Robert) Jensen; grandchildren, Sarah and Robert Jensen; her sister, Virginia (Gerry) Roemke and many Nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Cronk (2008); her parents; and brothers, William Fierek (2017) and Robert Fierek (1992).
Services for Mary Jo will be held privately in Wausau, Wi.
