The Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Falat, 90 will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 410 N. First St., Cary, where there will be visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. There will also be visitation from 4-9 p.m., Monday, November 15, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Born January 16, 1920 in Poland, she passed away at her home Friday, November 12, 2010. Mrs. Falat was a resident of Barrington from 1960 until her move to Cary in 2003. She loved gardening, summer flowers, and vegetable gardens. Mrs. Falat was known for her many afghans scarves, and her annual plant sales. Survivors include her children, Adam (Mary) Falat, Mitch (Nancy) Falat, Marion (Jennifer) Falat, Eva (Jerry) Detloff, and Joe (Janice) Falat; grandchildren, Adam (Paula) Falat II, Stacia (fiancé Dominic) Falat, Stefanie (Jacob) Norton, and Amelia Falat, Mitch Falat, Jr., Billy (Kim) Falat, Jenny (Jack) Johnson, Elijah, Jeffrey, Brian, and Sara Detloff, and Justin, Jeremy, and Julia Falat; and great-grandchildren, Hailey, Nicholas, and Chasey Falat. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Falat, brothers Gregory, Adam, and sister Sophia.
