Mary Helen McCarthy (nee Rigney), 74, of Barrington Hills, passed away March 9, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago on April 1, 1941 to Austin and Helen.

Mary Helen graduated from Sienna High in Chicago. On June 9, 1962 she married the love of her life, Larry McCarthy. Shortly after, they made their home in Barrington Hills and raised their three children. Mary Helen was very involved with the St. Anne Parish Community. She was a very successful Real Estate Broker for over thirty years and volunteered with Countryside Auxiliary
Center for the Handicap. She loved to sing, play golf, bridge and tennis, but above all, her family and friends meant everything to her. Her grandchildren brought her much joy.

Besides her husband, Larry, she will be sadly missed by her children, Colleen (Mick) Stevanovich of Barrington, Brian McCarthy of Barrington, and Kathleen (Mark) Suda of Naperville; grandchildren, Molly, Maggie, and Riley; siblings, Patricia (Don) Hagen of St. Louis, MO, and Vincent Sexton of Madison, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Austin Rigney and Helen (Tom) Sexton; siblings, Austin Sexton, Terry Carrick, Maureen Esser, and John Sexton.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 13 from 3 PM until 7 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W Main St (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Visitation will continue Monday, March 14 from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St (not Ela Rd.), Barrington. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
