Mary M. Neal (nee Koch)
Of Lake Barrington Shores, and Naples, FL, passed away Wed. Aug.31, 2011 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington after a series of heart conditions over the past two months.
Mary was born Nov. 3, 1943 in South Haven Michigan to Charles Raymond and Alice Koch, both preceding her in death. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gerald Neal; son Charles (Sarah) Neal and their son Tyler, of Fox River Grove, her daughter Christy Neal and her daughters Vera and Anastasia of Whittier, CA, her daughter Debi (Scott) Hurlock and their daughters Katie and Lilly. Mary is also survived by her brother Fred Koch of Lake Bluff, IL.
Mary was an active quilter and loved to teach quilting for which she received national recognition. She owned and operated her own quilt shop in the eighties while she lived with her family in Tampa, Fl. Mary was also active in the Collectibles Group of Barrington, and the Countryside Garden Club and the Countryside Reading Group of Barrington. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.
Memorial visitation will be held from 6:30-8p.m. Friday Sept. 2 at the Presbyterian Church of Barrington, 6 Brinker Road, Barrington. A Memorial Service will be held at 3p.m. Saturday Sept. 3 at the church.
