Mary Jane Pirovano, 80, currently of Cary, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2021. She was born on February 12, 1941 in Chicago, IL to James and Kathleen (nee Coonan) McVittie.
Mary is survived by her five children, Thomas (Ina), Anne Marie Elementi, John (Patty), Margaret Rose (Robert DePalma), and Mary Francesca (Rudi Steenbakkers); her grandchildren, Michael, Hannah, and Natalie Pirovano, Ray Elementi, Alexis and Christopher Pirovano, Megan and Jason Goettsche. She is further survived by her siblings, Thomas (Judy) McVittie, James (Fran) McVittie and Joan (Ken) Stasiak; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Jim) Rich, Lawrence (Dorothy), Richard (Rowena), Jayne (Frank) Eichsteadt, and John (Barb), and Sandee (Tom) Keane; along with nieces, nephews, friends and many cousins from Chicago and County Mayo, Ireland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Pirovano; and her brother, William McVittie.
Mary was a member of the McHenry County Genealogy Society, a hospice volunteer, and a volunteer for 4H of McHenry County. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and her grandchildren. During her retirement years, Mary found joy in spending time with family and friends.
Trying to come up with the right words that truly encapsulate Mary's life, we are safe to say she would be most proud to look back and know with all her heart that she loved well and, in turn, was truly well loved.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, from 4-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 401 N. First St., Cary, IL 60013.
