Mary Louise Zielnicki

Mary was born in Des Plaines, IL to Leonard and Louise Outland. She passed away on September 20, 2022 after 97 years of a healthy and fruitful life.

Mary was unwavering in her support to those around her, especially her beloved husband, John, to whom she was married for 71 years before his passing in 2021. Together they did many things, but where they really spent some time with each other was when they started Julie Ann’s Frozen Custard. She was extremely proud of the Julie Bar that she developed there. Mary and John had five children and family was everything to them. Holidays and celebrations in the Zielnicki household were always joyous. In addition to taking care of her family, Mary also spent innumerable hours volunteering at Bethesda, the Food Pantry and her church’s Altar Guild. But above all else, was her passion for sewing. Her family and her church were the lucky recipients of countless beautiful projects, always created with love.

Mary now joins her husband in heaven and is survived by their children, Kathy (Blaise), Bob (Gene), Mary (the late Peter), Steve (Tammy), and Linda (Clarence); grandchildren, Julie (Eric), Evan (Eleni), Peter (Allison), Holly (Bill), John (Deirdra), Andy (Krysia), Eve (Jon), Kevin (Sophia), David (Sophie), Carmen (Alex), Brian, Kimberly, and Grace; and seventeen cherished great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial visitation and service on Sunday, October 16, beginning at 10:30am, with the service starting at 12:30pm. These will be at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL.

Burial will take place on Monday, October 17, 2022, meeting at the chapel at Memory Gardens, 2501 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights, IL at 10:00am.
