MaryAnn (Fillippa) McDonald

January 29, 1929 — June 21, 2017

MaryAnn McDonald (Fillippa), 88, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Woodstock. She was born on January 29, 1929 in League City, TX to Joseph and Margaret (Delesandri) Fillippa.

She was raised on a farm in Texas, married, and moved to Illinois where she raised her four children. She spent most of her working career at Quaker Oats. After retirement she was very active in Senior clubs, spending time with her friends. She was considered the matriarch of the family and most family gatherings were centered around her. She loved live music and dancing.

She is survived by her children, Linda (John) Wilhelm, Scott McDonald, Tina (Glenn) Kastilahn, and Lisa (Richard) Buhr; her grandchildren, John (Karyn), Justin (Cole), Lindsey (Joe), Taylor (Ashlee), Josh (Hanna), Jenny (Jeremy), Mike, and Karli (Bobby); great grandchildren AJ, Piper, Layla, Hadley, Henry, Christian, Nate, Alex; and her siblings, Jeanette (Carl) Arnold, and Joe (Melissa) Fillippa. She is also survived by her very large and loving extended family in Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings, twin sister Dorothy (Owen) Olson, Nick (Mary Beth) and Shirley Fillippa.

The memorial visitation and celebration of life will be from 3-8pm, Monday, June 26, 2017 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL. A memorial Mass will be held at 11am, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
