Mary Catherine "Katie" Segersten

Mary Catherine “Katie” Segersten, 55, of Crystal Lake, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2022. She was born on April 11, 1966 in Baltimore, MD and raised in Buffalo Grove, IL.

Katie was a graduate of Buffalo Grove High School and attended McHenry County College. She was an avid animal lover, especially dogs, horses and cats. Katie was quiet, thoughtful and a very giving person - helping anyone in need. Her current job in healthcare personified her identity. Her generosity and beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Katie will be deeply missed by her loving parents, Mary (Frank) Schmitt; her siblings, Jim (Margaret), Ann and Margaret Segersten; her nephew, Shamus Segersten; her beloved dogs, Chesney, Dunkin, Maizie and Henley; and by her loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 4 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:30 AM at St. Mary Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Rd, Buffalo Grove. Interment will be private.
