Mary Lou (Falash) Alwardt
August 2, 1937 — November 1, 2017
Mary Lou Alwardt, of New Castle, KY, passed away November 1, 2017 at the age of 80. From her birth in Wadsworth, IL on August 2, 1937 to her death on Wednesday, she nourished people around her with love, kindness and genuine care. Mary Lou had such a big heart and was a perfect example of a selfless person. She will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Herbert C. Alwardt; children, Bill Alwardt, Mike (Linda) Alwardt, Keith (Debbie) Alwardt, John Alwardt, and Melisa Kossack; sister, Regina (William) Langer; and brother, Richard (Nancy) Falash, Jr. She is further survived by her many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and numerous other family members and friends.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Esther (nee Jennings) Falash; daughter-in-law, Alice Alwardt; son-in-law, Bob Kossack, and sister, Joan Norris.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:30 AM until the time of a funeral service at 11:30 AM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, IL.
