Matthew Thomas Kischuk
January 20, 1980 — October 23, 2017
Born January 20, 1980 in Evanston, the son of Michael and Dorothy (nee Godfrey) Kischuk, Matthew passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Huntley.
Matt was a loving husband and a devoted father. His family was his greatest pride and joy. He used our time together to the fullest, not taking for granted how precious life is, and he treasured every moment. Despite Matt’s difficult battle with cancer, he drew his strength from God, he never gave up hope, and he made his family proud. Jesus walked alongside us in this journey and carried us when we couldn’t do it alone. Our children take comfort in knowing that Daddy is now in heaven and he is at last fully healed. They delight in the images of what he must be seeing and experiencing walking with Jesus in heaven.
Matt will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Laura; his adored children, Isabella Rose and Joshua Thomas; his loving mother, Dorothy Kischuk; his beloved siblings, Kelly Miller Elliott, Nicholas Kischuk, and Courtney Kastler; and numerous extended family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael; and grandmother, Dorothy Godfrey.
The visitation for Matt will be held Friday, October 27, from 4-8p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
Visiting will continue the following day, Saturday, October 28, from 9:30am until prayers said at 10:30am at the funeral home followed by procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave., for the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Jackson Street, Woodstock.
