Maureen (Coloe) Krausen

Maureen Krausen - mother, sister, daughter, and wife passed away on May 8, 2021 at the age of 83.  She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Krausen Jr.; parents John and Mae Coloe; brother Tom Coloe; and daughter in-law, Cindy Krausen. Maureen is survived by her children, Paul, John, Donna (Jim) Hocker, Rich (Gina), Jim (Laura), and Sue (Joey) Kotaska; 18 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister Jeanne (Elliott) Morio; and sisters in-law Betty Coloe and Linda Larocco.

Maureen grew up in Queens New York.  She married Jack Krausen October 14, 1956 and moved their family to the Midwest.  After a couple of moves between IL and Ohio, they settle in Crystal Lake, IL in 1976 where Maureen and Jack raised their family of six children. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them grow.

Most important to Maureen was being a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She devoted her life to her family and always provided support and love for all.  In retirement Maureen enjoyed spending time with family, friends and playing golf over the last few years.

Jack and Maureen played a significant role in the funding and building of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church of Crystal Lake back in 1978.

Maureen worked for Follett Corporation in McHenry, IL for 30yrs as the head receptionist.  She was the first person you would meet when entering Follett.  Where she made clients, suppliers, employees feel welcomed and valued.  Maureen enjoyed being with people and was always up for a conversation to get to know you better.

Private services were held on May 9th.  Celebration of life services will be held in June 2021.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Maureen’s name to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
