Melissa Fleming Hardinge

Melissa Fleming Hardinge, 72, of Cary, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024. She was born on September 19, 1951, in Dallas, TX, to Lewis Fleming and Winona Gaynell Amis.

On March 28, 1976, she married Harold Hardinge IV, and together they dedicated over 48 years to serving the Lord. Through their local church, Melissa and Harold engaged in lay counseling and led a nursing home ministry in song, touching the lives of many with their compassion and devotion. She received a degree in Women’s Ministry from Trinity Bible College.  

A prayer warrior at heart, Melissa was an active member of an international prayer organization, traveling extensively to cover people and places in prayer. Her unwavering commitment to her faith and community made her a source of hope and spiritual support.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband, Harold; children, Abram Hardinge and Prudence (Eric) Rowe; stepchildren, Harold Eugene Hardinge and Virginia Lynch; grandchildren, Judah, Eden, and Asher Rowe; and siblings, Linda Williams, Marsha Gilbert, Bryan Amis, and Lewis Amis.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral service will take place on Friday, April 19, at 11:00 AM at The Orchard Church, 1301 S Grove Ave, Barrington, with an additional visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
