Merilyn Rauchenberger

Merilyn Rauchenberger, 76, of Huntley and formerly of Barrington, peacefully passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois in Woodstock. She was born January 3, 1933 in Chicago to Emanuel and Jeanette (nee Levy) Boock. Merilyn worked as a real estate agent in Barrington for many years. She found enjoyment in traveling and spending time with her grandchildren, and especially had a love of puppies. Her survivors include her husband, Carl Rauchenberger; five children, Carla (Arlin) Housh of Lakewood, Kurt (Jude) Rauchenberger of Westerly, RI, Derek (Janet) Rauchenberger of Lakewood, Craig Rauchenberger of Huntley and Lisa Rauchenberger of Toronto, ON; five grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Housh, Carlyn and Melissa Housh, and Max and Annalise Rauchenberger; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Marvin and Jay Boock. A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place from 6-8pm, Thursday, Sept. 17 at The Walleye Grill, 12900 Del Webb Blvd, Huntley IL 60142-7602. Interment will be private. Memorials in her name may be sent to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S Hager Ave, Barrington IL 60010-4196.
