Michael Beckford

Michael Gary Beckford, 48, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on August 1, 2016. He was born June 19, 1968 in Chicago to Gary and Nancy (Natyshok) Beckford.

Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He loved spending time with his family and playing games with his children, which led him to be a co- founder of Good Gaming, Inc., a company that runs amateur gaming tournaments.

Michael will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Jacqueline (nee Schmuldt); children, Nicolas, Matthew, Aidan, Emily, Abby, Christopher and River; parents, Gary (Linda) Beckford and Nancy Muehler; sister, Jeanne (Tommy) Todd; nieces and nephew, Mike, Megan and Brianna; parents-in-law, Rich and Arlene Schmuldt; brother-in-law, Kevin Schmuldt and sister-in-law, Laura (Josh) Allen. Many loving relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his step-fathers, Dennis O’Mahoney and Duane Muehler, and by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Celebration of Michael’s life will be Sunday, August 7, from 12:30 PM until the 4 PM Military Honors Ceremony at Del Webb Meadow View Lodge, 12980 Meadow View Ct., Huntley, IL 60142. Inurnment will be Tuesday, August 9, 12 Noon at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
