Michael F. Maude, Sr., 85, was born in Chicago, to the late Joseph Basil and Mary Ann (nee Ridge) Maude, on January 11, 1929, and passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease in the comfort of his home on March 10, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael attended grade school at St. Vincent School and graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1947. He then attended Lewis University and graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1954, with a degree in Civil Engineering.

As an entrepreneur, he founded Patterson Construction Company (50 years), Maude Environmental, Illini Consulting Group, Maude Development, LLC. He also participated in Chicago Asphalt, Sheffield Tank, American Electric, Reeds Candy Company, and River Front Chrysler Dealership. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Knight of Columbus.

Michael was passionate about helping others less fortunate and would help them in whatever way he could. He was a co-founder of the Michael Joseph Foundation (21 years) which provided temporary housing for 700 families, and provided scholarships to private schools, for high school students, through the LINK Program.

Michael served in the United States Army in 1949, and was a devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception in Chicago, St. Anne Catholic Church, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Osprey, FL. Michael was an avid golfer and was an involved member of Biltmore Country Club and The Oaks Country Club (Casey Key, FL) where he and his wife, Rosemary, spent most of their years together playing golf and laughing with friends. He was of Irish descent, and enjoyed playing golf in Ireland and throughout the world.

Michael is survived by his loving, beautiful wife of 61 years, Rosemary Agnes Maude (nee Bremner), whom he married in St. Michael's Church in Chicago; children, Timothy (Heike nee Menzel) and their two children, T.J and Juliana; Susan; Colleen (Bill) Noyes and their four children, Amelia, Jack, Meghan and Victoria; Michael and his three children, Michael, Benjamin and Emily; Brian (Nancy nee VonLavon) and their four children, Caroline, Daniel, Casey and Cathleen; Regina (George) McCarthy and their three children, Colin, Dylan and Tara; Martin (Marita nee Driscoll) and their four children, McKenzie, Ryan, Kieran and Emmett; James; David; and Erin (David Snydle) and their two sons, Liam and Finn.

Michael is also survived by his brothers, Joseph (Catherine) and Patrick (Patricia), and his sister, Maureen (Thomas) Newell and their children.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 15, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela St. (not Ela Road), Barrington, where there will be visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Fr. Britto Berchmans will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington, followed by a reception.

There will also be a visitation from 4-9 p.m., Friday, March 14, at Davenport Family Funeral Home 149 West Main Street (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington.
