Michael Ruley

Michael Ruley, 79, of Lake Zurich was born on September 29, 1943 and passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023.

Mike was the only child of Robert and Hilda Ruley and grew up in Waukegan. He attended Waukegan Township High School, graduating in 1961. Upon graduation, he attended DeVry and later Milwaukee School of Engineering. His career with United Parcel Service spanned 35 years, where he started off as a driver for 5 years and later retired in management after 30 years.

On July 14, 1963, he married Donna Stanulis, at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Waukegan; together they enjoyed nearly 60 beautiful years of marriage. They were blessed with two children, Christine and Ken and further blessed with 4 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Mike was always willing to lend a hand when it came to handywork. He enjoyed helping others, whether it was building a house from the ground up or remodeling a room. He enjoyed Corvettes and took joy in rebuilding them. He was an avid bowler and bowled in league bowling for over 30 years.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Donna; children, Christine (Bill) Ringham and Ken (Lisa) Ruley; grandchildren, Natalie (Jesse Tkach) and Nathaniel Ringham, Mitchell (Jaycee) and Ross (Dana Hutter) Ruley, great-granddaughter, Stevie Mae; his brother-in-law, Ted (Pat) Stanulis; and by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2023, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd. Lake Zurich from 9:15 AM until the time of funeral mass at 10 AM. Entombment will be private.
