Michael West-Keyes

Michael K. West-Keyes, 53, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Aurora on May 9, 1963, he was the son of David and Bonita (nee Keyes) West. On November 5, 2004 he was united in marriage to Kathryn M. Rude in Chicago.
Michael proudly served in the US Air Force for nine years, two of those years in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Throughout his military career, he earned two Bronze Stars.
He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and truly enjoyed music, food, cooking and socializing. He possessed a great sense of humor and a very positive attitude.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kate; two sons, Blair and Ethan; a daughter, Lexi West-Keyes; his father; his sister, Staci Keyes; and a niece, Rachael Keyes. He was preceded in death by his mother; and his brother, Brian.
A visitation will be August 15, 2016 from 10am until the memorial service at 11am at Main Baptist Church, 814 E. Galena Blvd, Aurora, IL 60505. Repast will be held at the church at 12:30pm. Interment will be private.
