Mihaly “Mike” Ruttkai, 79, currently of Princeton, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. He was born on October 18, 1939 in Szegi, Hungary.

Mike immigrated to the United States from Hungary in 1957. He met his wife Rosina in April 1966 and they married a month later on May 28th, 1966. Together they had two children Debbie (Lester) and Mihaly “Mike” Ruttaki Jr. Mike devoted the majority of his career working at Sage Products in the molding department and retired in 2002. Following retirement, Mike and Rosina moved to the small town of Princeton, WI and bought a house on the lake. Together, they spent their time enjoying fishing, boating, and gardening. Mike believed that family is the most important thing in life and cherished those he loved. He enjoyed taking pictures to capture the many family memories made, Rosina’s lemon bars, grilling and the Chicago Blackhawks and Bears.  You could also find him volunteering at his local food pantry serving his community.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Rosina; and children, Debbie (Lester), Mike (Rose) Ruttkai Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer and Michelle Rasmussen; great grandson, Cristian Rasmussen; his sister Jolánka Ruttkai, Goddaughter Mária Ruttkai; and his extended family and friends in Hungary.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Béres Rozália; father, Mihály Ruttkai; sister, Margit Ruttkai; and brothers, Gábor, László and János Ruttkai.

Visitation will be Friday, August 30, from 5pm until 7pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL. Burial will be Saturday morning at 9:00 am at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the American Heart Association.
