Mike Tichenor

Michael F. Tichenor, of Crystal Lake, passed away surrounded by his beloved family on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the age of 71.

He was born July 4, 1950 in Chicago, the son of Harry and Polly (nee Sweet) Tichenor.

Beloved by all, Mike was very much a true man of God and showed it in all his actions. He was always there to listen to others, offer advice, and often found the humor in things. Mike was fortunate enough to touch many lives with his coaching, mentoring, and kindness. Additionally, he was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Mike was the loving dad of Lisa (Jeff) Boberg, Jason (Lisa) Maxwell, Chris (Bri) Maxwell, and Courtney (Matt) Wagner; beloved Papa of Jakob Boberg, Yasi Maxwell, Melanie Boberg, Riley Maxwell, Kamden Maxwell, Ayden Wagner, Cole Maxwell, Madelyn Wagner, Chayse Maxwell, Ava Boberg, Xavier Maxwell, and one on the way; cherished brother of Nancy Tichenor and Mary Jane Bierhuizen; and loving uncle of Pete, Eric, and P.J. Bierhuizen, Bonnie Bransky, and Bill Lonquist.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rhonda (nee Rollett) Tichenor; and siblings, Timothy Tichenor and Patricia Westfall.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. with a funeral service and military honors beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake.
