Miklos immigrated to America during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956. He became a proud US citizen and was grateful for all of the opportunities available in his adopted country. He married the love of his life, Ildiko on August 31, 1968. After their marriage, Miklos and Ildiko raised two daughters in Crystal Lake. He wrote his life story in his published book, Twice Blessed . Being an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church was important to Miklos. He was a devoted husband and father who loved traveling, tennis and his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Miklos is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ildiko (nee Juhasz) Magyar; his daughters, Erika Ferguson and Andrea Gadson; his grandchildren, Tyler, Heather and Adam Ferguson, and Ashlyn and Elise Gadson; and his siblings, Otto (Helma) Magyar, Tomas Magyar, and Marika Nagy.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Joszef Magyar, and his parents.
A funeral Mass will take place at 1:00pm, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Crystal Lake Public Library, 126 Paddock St., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
