Milivoj "Mike" Cindric, 87, of Chicago, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Resurrection Medical Center, Chicago. He was born May 10 1923, in Croatia, to the late Grga and Olga (nee Peperko) Cindric. While living in Croatia, Mr. Cindric was an Army Welter Weight boxing champion. He enjoyed playing the mandolin and violin and was a member of Velebit, a Croatian folk band, for over 40 years. Mr. Cindric was an avid gun collector and world traveler. Survivors include his wife, Stefanie (nee Kolar); son, Emil (Nada) Cindric of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Michael (fiancee Ashlie Gewe) of Crystal Lake, Kristina (Anthony) Ebel of Crystal Lake, Jason of Atlanta and Steven of Chicago; great-grandchildren, Addison and Oliver Ebel; and sister Lela (Vlado) Kolar of Zagreb, Croatia. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cindric was preceded in death by his brother, Emil Cindric. There will be a visitation from 3-9 p.m., Friday, August 20 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 21, at the funeral home. Interment is private. Memorials in Mr. Cindric's name may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
