Nancy L. (Knox) Beers

Nancy L. Beers, 81, originally of Barrington, passed away on March 16, 2023. She was born in Chicago on December 6, 1941 to the late Adrian and Rosemary Knox.

She grew up in Chicago. Her family moved several times including living in Kentucky and Wisconsin, but ended up back in Illinois where she met her husband and raised her family. She worked in the medical field for years running offices for chiropractic, general practice, imaging, and labs.

Nancy had an eye for design and started her own business called Silk, Stems & More and made beautiful silk flower arrangements and wreaths. Her most favorite was decorating homes for Christmas, including her own. She created the most beautiful decorations and was especially known for her gorgeous bows. She loved wrapping gifts for birthdays and Christmas, and everyone knew which one was from Nancy because of the amazing bows that topped the gifts. She loved holidays and birthdays and always made that day very special for her family. Traditions were very important to her. She was an amazing cook and baker which included her Christmas spritz cookies and apple and pumpkin pies for the holidays.

She was a loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Family was very special to her. Nancy always said her children and grandchildren were her “pride and joy”. She attended many sporting events for her grandchildren over the years and cheered them on as their superfan from the sidelines. It was important to her to attend all their events at school and award ceremonies. She was so proud of all their achievements. She will be loved and missed forever by all who loved her.

Survivors include her children, Kristin (Ken) Vesely and James (Michelle) Beers; grandchildren, Kenny, Kyle, and Keegan Vesely, Jimmy, Cameron, and Kaitlin Beers; siblings, Dean (Eileen) Knox, Dale (Cheryl) Knox, and Dennis (Carolyn) Knox; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A visitation will continue Saturday morning, March 25, from 10am until a service at 11am. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
