Nancy Lynn (Jacobson) Chrystal

Nancy Lynn Chrystal, 61, of Crystal Lake, IL died unexpectedly at her home on December 22, 2022.

As her friends and family experienced during her rich, beautiful time on this planet, Nancy loved fiercely and unconditionally. She believed that life was for living and Nancy unquestionably lived with passion.

Nancy and her husband, Jim, met as young college kids and were married 39 years. Their dynamic partnership built a family that was Nancy’s greatest joy and the center of her world. She was so proud of raising five children whom she empowered to follow their passions and encouraged to be wildly curious.

Nancy was known for being a life-long learner and a trusted wealth of knowledge for everyone who sought her counsel. She loved to cook vegan food, host epic parties, entertain and take care of her people. Her favorite hobbies included holding babies, breaking out her tools for a DIY project and long conversations over dots of wine.

Nancy is survived by her broken-hearted family who cherished the bright light she was and the indelible impact she will leave on them and generations to come; husband, Jim; daughters, Kelly (Stuart) Chrystal, Kathryn (Oscar) Maitas, Kiernan (CJ) Chrystal; sons, James (Jennifer) Chrystal, and Jacob (Gianna) Chrystal; grandchildren, Leonardo, Oliver, Callum, Julian and Lillian; siblings Craig Jacobson and Gail Pascus; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held Tuesday, December 27 beginning at 3pm with a eulogy service at 6pm at Hickory Hall, 406 W. Woodstock St, Crystal Lake.
