Graveside services for Nathalene Dorthea Foersterling nee Nemitz, 94 of Barrington will be private at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. She was born April 16, 1915 in Chicago and grew up in Galesburg, IL. Nat went on and graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign in 1937. After graduation she married her college sweetheart F. Jack Foersterling. Shortly thereafter he was called and served his country in WW2 Europe. After the war the couple moved to Elmhurst, IL. In 1962 the couple moved to Inverness/Barrington area. Nat and Jack were very much a part of that "The Greatest Generation" as depicted in the Tom Brokaw book. Nat and Jack were ideal parents and raised the children in an "Ozzie and Harriet" type atmosphere. Nat?s greatest strength was her gift of worry. While growing up in the family, all the children and grandchildren knew they never had to worry about anything as they held the certain knowledge that Grammie had the worry aspect adeptly covered. Imagine going thru life without the burden of worry and the freedom that it unleashes. Nat was always very active in community serving in PTA, PEO (past president), Inverness Golf Club and other club organizations but her principal focus and love remained her family. As with many women of that "greatest generation" the women worked, saved, and raised children alone for years while the husbands were off to war. For those women there were no parades, titles, awards or promotions. For them the reward was seeing their family grow up to be responsible contributing adults in our society. She was the loving wife of the late Frederick Jack Foersterling, Dear mother of, Robert (Janice) Foersterling, Susan (Dave) Ardapple and the late Frederick Foersterling, cherished mother-in-law of Pat Foesterling, late Frederick (cherished mother-in-law of Pat) Foersterling. Nat leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Nathalene is now gone from this earth to be, again, with Jack but she will live forever here in the hearts and minds of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
