Nghĩa Thi Diệp, 81, of Cary, was born on March 5, 1935 in Việt Nam to Sanh and Chờ (nee Nguyễn) Diệp. She passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Barrington.

Nghĩa was a devoted wife, sister, mother of 9, and grandmother of 18. She was a selfless individual who cared for everyone and everything around her. Nghĩa enjoyed watching dramas, crocheting, and spending time with her many grandchildren. She was a practicing Buddhist and a member of Chùa Quang Minh temple located in Chicago, IL.

Nghĩa is survived by her husband, Nam Tấn Trương; her children, Bình (Cường) Ngũ, Hưng (Yến) Trương, Hà (Quang) Nguyễn, Long (Vân) Trương, Vân (Sơn) Trần, Hồ̀ng (Bill) Gordon, Dũng (Trâm) Trương, Tuyết (Bang) Đặng, and Cường (Trúc) Trương; her grandchildren, Amy, Will, Marc, Linda, Richard, Julia (Daniel), Pauline, Tiffany (Brian), Jessi, Alex, Jennifer, Berlynn, Dylan, Brianna, Jaclyn, Nolan, and Pearla; her sisters Vỏ, Phương, Mỹ, and her brothers Thái, and Tường.

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Kim Trương.

The family will pray for Nghĩa from 9am-5pm, Friday, September 2, 2016 and from 9am-5pm, Saturday, September 3, 2016. Prayers will continue from 9am until time of formal procession to her residence at 3pm, Sunday, September 4, 2016. Procession will be immediately followed by a cremation ceremony. A Buddhist master will be praying with the family on Friday from 10am-12pm and again on Sunday starting at 3pm. All events will take place at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

The family appreciates the thought and kindness but asks that no monetary donations be made.
