Nora Reyna Wadhwa, of Highland Park, passed away on May 25, 2020 at the age of 82.
She was born February 20, 1938 in Iquitos, Peru, the daughter of the late Roberto and Rosa Reyna. Nora came to the United States in 1964 and settled in the Chicago area. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years at Cook County Hospital (n/k/a Stroger Hospital).
Nora enjoyed reading, doting on her grandchildren, and was a gifted story teller having a wealth of knowledge of many things. A strong-willed woman with a kind heart, she enjoyed her life to the fullest.
Nora is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Chander P. Wadhwa; her daughters, Sheila (Erik) Lundgren and Sara (Juan) Alvarado; her beloved grandchildren, Jack and Natalie Lundgren and Amelia and Sophia Alvarado; sister, Sara Gonzalez; brother, Gilberto Reyna; brothers, Rafael Reyna, Hernan Reyna; sister, Betty Reyna; and many nieces and nephews throughout India, Peru and the United States.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Olga Reyna; and brothers, Jorge Reyna and Ivan Reyna.
Services for Nora will be held privately for her immediate family.
