Norma J Shippy

Norma J. Nilsson Shippy, 83, of Crystal Lake passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

She was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 3, 1938, the daughter of the late Karl and Alberta (nee Larsen) Nilsson.

Norma was a creative, loving, and generous person. She had a love for the fine arts including music, poetry, languages, and films. Norma loved her time spent as a high school English and Latin teacher. She loved to travel, spend time with her grandchildren, and was a gifted pianist.

Norma is survived by her children, Karen Shippy Davis and Mark (Maigin Blank) Shippy; her grandchildren, Kyle Lee Davis and Trevor Lyle Davis; her great-granddaughter, Emma Rose Davis; sisters, Anita Schmidt and Nancy Mericle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Shippy; and son-in-law, Ron Davis.

Services will be private.
