Norman Jacobsen

Algonquin, Illinois,NORMAN R. JACOBSEN Norman R. Jacobsen, 69, long time resident of Algonquin passed away on Thursday, June 10 2010 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. On August 1, 1940 he was born to Sigwald and Margaret (Anderson) Jacobsen in Evanston. He was united in marriage to Sharon Schroedle on June 28, 1974 in Chicago. He received a B.S. degree in Finance from Roosevelt University and an MBA from Northern Illinois University. For over 30 years, Norman was employed by the federal government and in 1978 he started Norman R. Jacobsen & Company. He enjoyed white water rafting, boating, hiking, traveling, and good food. His survivors include his beloved wife, Sharon; his devoted son, Andrew Jacobsen of Crystal Lake; his daughter, Kristen (Michael) Kuehl of Encino, CA; his cherished grandchildren, Bryce and Jarrad; and his dear brothers, Donald and Robert Jacobsen. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 3-9pm, Tuesday, June15, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt 176), Crystal Lake. The visitation will continue from 9:30am until the 10:30am service, Wednesday, June 16 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
