Biography Ofelia Norada Ramirez, 83, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014. She was born in Laguna, Philippines to Florencio and Felisa (Tuviera) Norada.
Ofelia received a Bachelor’s in Education from Philippine Women’s University and worked as an auditor at Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company in Chicago.
On May 28, 1958 she married Rosauro F. Ramirez. They moved to Chicago in 1968 to join previous family members and start new careers. Rosauro passed away in 1992, and Ofelia moved out to Crystal Lake to be closer to her daughter.
Ofelia will be remembered for her gift of generosity. Being godmother to numerous children, she truly loved blessing them on birthdays and special occasions. She loved to take pictures, dance, and attend parties and hometown reunions. Although she never drove, she was the ultimate back seat driver and knew how to navigate anywhere in Chicago.
Ofelia is survived by daughters, Racquel (Joel) Ramirez-Dolleton, Crystal Lake, and Marcelle Ramirez, Los Angeles, CA, and grandchildren, Olivia, Christopher, and Paolo.
Visitation will start Saturday, November 8th, at 10am with a funeral service at 12:30pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake.
