Olive S. Gottwald

Olive S. “Bubs” Gottwald, 90, of Barrington, passed away January 12, 2018.
Bubs was the loving wife of the late Carl Gottwald; devoted mother of Robert E. Rettger, David W. (Nancy) Rettger, Karl J. Rettger and Laurie H. (Regg) Ackerman; cherished grandmother of Christine (Derek), Elizabeth (Kerry), Robert, Ashley and Rachel Rettger, and Landon and Ryan Cummins; and great-grandmother of River McCrory.
Bubs enjoyed a long life, nearly reaching her 90th birthday. Along the way she raised three sons, enjoyed several grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. In 1982 she married the true love of her life, husband Carl. Together they traveled Europe with family and friends. Bubs and Carl lived life to its fullest. They had 32 wonderful years together until his passing in 2014. “Bubs and Carl” was truly a single word.
