Opal Stebbins

The funeral service for Opal Juanita Stebbins (nee Schoonover), 95, recently of Uniontown, OH, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 14, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, where there will be visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.

Born May 16, 1918, in Jefferson, OK to the late Walter and Florence (nee Buffalow) Schoonover, she passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Mrs. Stebbins was a member of Rebekah Lodge and worked as a librarian assistant. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and the company of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Connie) Stebbins of Mayfield, KY, Danny Stebbins of Uniontown, OH, and Randy (Linda) Stebbins of North Canton, OH; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister, Nelda Bailey of Blanchard, OK.

Mrs. Stebbins was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Stebbins in 1964, whom she married in January of 1937; sons, Richard and Roger Stebbins; and brothers, Dale and Earl Schoonover.
