Pat Garrett, a.k.a. Dad, Grandpa, Pastor Pat and Mr. G, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 surrounded by his family.  He was born Friday, August 19, 1949 in Greenville, Ohio to the late Paul and Mary (Miller) Garrett.  Pat is survived by his wife, Karen Garrett (nee Tonkin); his children, Mike (Lisa) Garrett and Maggie (Rob) Stone; his grandchildren, Caitlin and Luke Garrett, and Lily and Ethan Stone; and his siblings, Teresa (Dale) Galis, Becky (Jim) Harris and Dan Garrett.

Pat graduated from Mundelein High School in 1967 and met his future wife, Karen, of 48 years, while working his first job at Americana Interstate.  After serving in the U.S. Army for 2 and a half years, he started his family of 4 and went on to receive his Bachelors in Computer Science from Roosevelt University.  While working at Northern Trust Bank, he participated in the Executive Program at Univ. of Chicago to earn his MBA.  His working career ended at IBM as a Sales Executive.  He spent his remaining years of life playing his guitar, banjo and mandolin while serving on the Worship team at Willow Creek of Crystal Lake.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid golfer and loved watching his favorite Chicago sports teams; Da Bears, Go Cubs Go and Blackhawks.

His visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, Illinois.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 15, beginning at 2:00pm at Willow Creek Community Church, 100 S. Main St., Crystal Lake, Illinois.
