Patricia Morris

Pat Morris (nee Jones), 81, of Crystal Lake, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 in Crystal Lake. She was born January 10, 1935 to Theda M. and Paul M. Jones in New York, NY.
Pat graduated from Bayside High School and Manhattan Institute of Medical Technology and also attended Queens College. After she completed her internship at Beechhurst Hospital, she worked for physicians in Long Island and Park Avenue in New York. She then was employed for eight years as a medical and x-ray technician for United Airlines Medical Department at Idlewild (now Kennedy) Airport.
On October 5, 1963 Pat was united in marriage to Robert E. Morris, Jr. in Kew Gardens, NY. After moving to Illinois, she worked at Skokie Valley Medical Clinic and later worked for the Algonquin Township Assessor’s Office and also in the McHenry Country Treasurer’s office.
Pat was co-founder of the Ridgefield School Cooperative Pre-school Program. She was a Girl Scout leader for two years at St. Thomas the Apostle School and a past member of the Interfaith Food Pantry Board and past president of St. Thomas the Apostle Women’s Club. She was treasurer of the Nunda Township Cemetery Board of Trustees and corresponding secretary for Good Samaritan Ministry.
Pat’s hobbies were writing and art and she was also interested in animal welfare and the environment.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Militello; her grandsons, Anthony and Alexander; her granddaughter, Ava; a brother and sister-in-law; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and good friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Monday, August 1 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 2 at 10:15 followed by a procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake where the Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11am. Interment will follow at Ridgefield Cemetery, Crystal Lake.
