Patricia A. Smith was born August 29, 1929 to Hazel and Floyd King in Evanston, Illinois and passed away May 23, 2105.
She graduated from Evanston High School in 1947 and became a dental assistant. She married Donald H. Smith in 1950. She is survived by her husband, Donald, and a daughter, Kerry L. Smith.
Pat had a strong interest in the elements of homemaking. She became quite skilled in furniture repair and restoration plus learning the arts of chair rushing and canning as well as rug weaving. Pat was an outdoor person, totally dedicated to a lifetime of growing plants vegetables and flowers in several garden plots. She and Donald also had a second home in Wisconsin for a number of years.
She and her husband were Great Lakes Mariners, cruising the waters of Lake Michigan and its tributaries for close to 40 years on the family power yachts. She joined her husband on nearly fifty commercial ocean cruises, voyaging to 23 different nations.
All arrangements are to be private. No flowers, please. Any memorial should be made to a charity of one’s choice.
