Patricia "Pat" Steward

Patricia E. Steward, 87, of Algonquin, passed away on June 27, 2021.  She was born on October 25, 1933 in Mingo Junction, OH to Victor and Leila (nee Dye) Steward.

Pat received a B.S.E from St John University in Cleveland, Oh and a M.S.E. from Kent State University in Kent, OH. As a Sister of the Humility of Mary in Villa Maria, PA, Pat taught elementary school.  For 29 years, she was a Guidance Counselor at Barrington Middle School – Station Campus. Pat was also a patient volunteer with Hospice of Northeastern Illinois for 9 years.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntley and a volunteer in their Ministry of Prayer.

Pat is survived by her special nieces and nephews, Maurice Edwards, Calvin Edwards, and Sandra Boatman; great nieces and nephews; and the beloved members of the Wertz family.  Pat was preceded in death by her loving partner of 20 years, Frederick Wilson; sisters, Pearl Barnhart (Gene), Vera Edwards (Issac); Brother, Russell Steward(June);  loving Godparents, Eileen and Dr. Robert E. Wirtz; nephew, Merle Edwards; niece Barbara Warren; and beloved poodles, Joyelle, Teddi, and Jacques.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley, IL. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
