Patricia "Pat" Torpe

Patricia “Pat” Torpe, 87, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 27, 2018. She was born on June 6, 1931 in Chicago to Joseph and Elva (nee Gotschall) Hissong.

Pat was an avid Chicago Bears fan, gardener and member of Countryside Garden Club. She loved travelling, nature and animals; she was especially proud to hold several national titles as an AKC field trial gun dog owner. Above all, she was a spectacular single mom.

Pat will be joyfully remembered by her loving children, Kathy (Bob) Novak of Crystal Lake; Sandy (Rod) Simon of North Riverside, IL; Cheryl (Jerry) Aurelio of Alpharetta, GA; Scott (Sue) Torpe of Crystal Lake; Susan (Steve) Gray of St. Charles, IL; grandchildren, Michael (Dawn) Novak and Julie (Justin Hart) Novak, Jack Gray, Maggie (Chris) Mesch, Ben (Shannon) Gray, Michael (Ellen) Aurelio, Christine Aurelio, Samantha (Sam) McCowan, Dustin Gray, Taylor Gray; great-grandchildren, Nick, Alec, Wyatt, Malcolm, Makayla, Christopher, Thomas, Krisandra, Landon and Jeremy; many loving friends and relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Torpe; mother, Elva Hissong; sister Carol Hissong and by her loving fiancé, Skip Riley.

Memorial visitation will be Monday, July 2, 2018, from 10 AM until the 11 AM Celebration of Life service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
