Patrick Lydon
August 12, 1947 — May 8, 2013
After a courageous 11 year battle with cancer, Patrick passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 8, 2013.
He was born August 12, 1947 in Chicago to Michael and Mary Lydon. Patrick served a 30 year career with Illinois Bell until retiring and spent an additional 10 years with Midwest Electric. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and also enjoyed all Chicago sports. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lorraine “Penny” (nee Rea); sons, Michael (Gina), Timothy (Niki); and daughter, Kari (Jeff) Aldridge; grandchildren, Mitchell, Sydney, Kailey, Cal, Connor, Rylee, and Brody; sister, Mary “Bobsie” Vanerka; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Lydon; and sister, Betty Parisi.
A visitation for Patrick will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt 176) Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Mass will be held the following day, 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 3500 Washington St, McHenry, IL 60050. Immediately following mass will be procession to St. Patrick’s Countryside Cemetery in McHenry.
