Patrick Andrew Potts, 59, of Barrington, Ill. passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020. He was born August 18, 1960 at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill. to Mike and Bobbi Potts of Wilmette, Ill. Patrick graduated from New Trier East High School where he was the captain of the varsity wrestling team. He received a scholarship to Auburn University for wrestling, transferred to the University of Missouri (Mizzou) and eventually graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas.
Patrick spent his career in technology sales and was loved by bosses and coworkers alike. While he had a long and successful career in tech, his real passion was music. He was a very accomplished singer songwriter, played many instruments including guitar, piano and harmonica and released multiple CDs under the band name The Drysdales with his brother Steve.
Patrick lived on a gentleman's farm, coined Potts Farm, which at its height had 45 animals including emus, goats, donkeys, llamas, pigs, a horse, buffalo, pet deer and of course plenty of dogs and cats.
He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Kari (Reynolds); father of Clancy (Mick) Hayes and Theodore Potts; son of Roberta “Bobbi” (Ahern); brother of Michael, Bill and Steve (Michelle) Potts, Maureen “Mosie” (Mark) Himes and Catherine “Katie” Pace; and uncle to 27 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Michael “Big Mike” Potts.
There will be a Celebration of Life planned at a later date.
