Penny Ann Hoerauf

Penny Ann Hoerauf-Martens (nee Bishop), 68, of Lake Zurich, passed away on December 14, 2021. She was born on September 26, 1953 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Arthur and Frieda (nee Weoknhut) Bishop.

Penny and her first husband Gordon adopted and raised 4 wonderful sons. Her faith was everything to her and she became a devoted member of the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church bible study. She loved singing and playing her piano, cooking, baking, gardening, animals and above all else, spending time with her grandchildren.

Penny is survived by her loving husband Robert Lewis Martens; children, Louis, Daniel, Christopher (Jackie), and Andre (Linda) Hoerauf; grandchildren, Ariana, Avalyn, Dominic, Zoe and Zevy Hoerauf; and brother, William Bishop.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Earl Hoerauf.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 St. Mathew’s Lutheran Church, 24500 N. Old McHenry Rd., Hawthorn Woods, IL. Inurnment will be held at St. John’s Cemetery in Glenview.
