Peter Kocsis

Born April 9, 1927 in Chicago to Peter and Rosina Kocsis, he passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in Barrington.
Peter attended the Haugen grade school in Chicago and graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago.
Peter served in the U.S. Army during WWII, earning several medals. After his military service he attended Illinois Institute of Chicago, graduating in 1950 with a Bachelors Degree and in 1952 he received a Masters Degree from University of Iowa.
He was employed as a structural engineer for the City of Chicago for 33 years, during which time he wrote two engineering books. Peter enjoyed reading engineering journals, traveling, gardening and a variety of athletic activities, including walking, biking, swimming, and cross-country skiing. He also enjoyed playing the violin and was a member of the Citywide Orchestra since 1990, and other civic orchestras. Peter also volunteered at the Cuba Marsh for many years.
Peter was married to Doris Muuss July 26, 1958 and raised two children, Peter, and Linda Kocsis. He is also survived by a granddaughter Rosemary Josenkoski.
