Peter had been preparing to meet his family for a Packer’s Football Game when he died of natural causes. He was president of Frozen Custard Outfitters and helped establish Julie Ann’s Frozen Custard in Crystal Lake.
Peter and Mary Wisniewski fell in love at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and were married for 36 wonderful years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, nee Zielnicki, his four children and their families; Julie (Eric) Hoberg, Peter (Allison) Wisniewski, Holly (Bill) Hawes and John Wisniewski and his soon to be wife Deirdra Hickel; his loving grandchildren; Steven and Jackson Hoberg, Logan Wisniewski, Mary Maxine Hawes; his mother, Rita Wisniewski; his siblings: Chris Darton, Paula Lynn, Debbie Unger, Claudia Graf, Mary Lauenstein, Mark Wisniewski, Tom Wisniewski, Jerry Wisniewski, Andy Wisniewski; the Zielnicki family as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Paul.
Peter loved many things in life including nature, his dog Sammy, God’s word, his work (aka frozen custard), golf, his annual camping and hunting trips, swimming, boating, and his wife’s cooking. His favorite places included his home in Crystal Lake and the A-Frame/Stanley’s cottage in Oostburg, WI. By far his favorite past time was spending time with his family and making others happy. Peter was an eternal optimist who wore his heart on his sleeve. He was gentle, compassionate, a romantic and was never afraid to speak from the heart. He lived every day to the fullest and never held onto regrets.
A wake in his honor will be held on Thursday, October 4 from 3-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home at 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave, (Rte. 176) Crystal Lake.
