Philip R. Hoefert,63, a 20 year resident of Crystal Lake, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2011.
He was born December 16, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was an Army Veteran. In his professional life he was a sales representative for Get-A-Grip, Conney Safety Products, Standard Brands, and STP.
Philip was an avid Packers fan. He loved to travel and during his lifetime he visited 46 of our 50 states. He went to Hawaii every October for 23 years, many times backpacking into the Kalalu Valley on the island of Kauai. He enjoyed biking, hiking, golfing, and being outdoors. He will always be remembered as being a friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by his beloved brother Paul (Linda) Hoefert, nephews Alex and Andrew Hoefert, dear friends Geoff and Suzi Wendt, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Doris (Holzhaeuser) Hoefert, and his brother Peter Hoefert.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14 from 3-8pm, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Avenue (Route 176), Crystal Lake. He will be buried at Pinelawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Milwaukee. Services and interment will be private.
