Philippe E. Voisin of Barrington, Illinois died unexpectedly from a stroke on February 27, 2025 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was 46 years old.
Philippe was born in Montclair, New Jersey on November 3, 1978, the son of Marinette Voisin and Gilbert Voisin. He was raised in Barrington, Illinois and was a graduate of Barrington High School.
Philippe worked for years alongside his parents at their elevator business, MAGIL and LIGAM Inc., often in the warehouse driving the forklift and assembling electric motors and generators.
Philippe's passion project was his entrepreneurial landscaping service which "Necessitated" (to his delight!) getting an enormous Ford F350 Dually plus a 15 foot trailer for his countless mowers and blowers!
In January 2011, he welcomed his son, Tyler, into the world for whom he had such love and joy. Philippe loved sharing his hobbies and passion for all things cars, trucks, and trains with his son.
Philippe was a skilled horseman at Timmerman's Ranch where he rode weekly for the last couple of decades. Philippe was a life-long Scout. Philippe was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Philippe had an extraordinary gift of connecting with people. He had a reputation for being the one you could count on to help you with absolutely anything. And he did it with such kindness and patience. His neighbors, friends, and family will not only remember his goodness, but his giggly laugh and silly sense of humor as well.
In addition to his parents, Philippe leaves his son, Tyler; his sister Karine Roy Alexander of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and her husband, Erik and children Lukas and Caroline; his brother Alexander Voisin of Paris, France and his wife, Wan-yi and children Jade and Ethan; and his godparents Ginette Ghyselen (aunt) and the late Marc Voisin (uncle).
Family and friends will honor and remember Philippe's life by gathering for a visitation wake to be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 4 pm until 8 pm at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010.
A second visitation will be held the following morning, Monday, March 3, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30am at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela St., Barrington, IL 60010.
Entombment to follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, Illinois.
