Philippine Kunz

Philippine Kunz (nee Hedrich), 87, of Crystal Lake, IL passed away Resurrection Sunday, April 5, 2015, at JourneyCare in Barrington, IL.

She was born June 7, 1927, in Liebling, Romania to the late Martin and Philippina (nee Heisler) Hedrich. Mrs. Kunz married Jakob Kunz on August 2, 1947, in Austria.

Mrs. Kunz immigrated from Liebling, Romania, through Austria, arriving in New Orleans, LA on March 22, 1952. She then settled in Crystal Lake, near her family, and has been a resident for 63 years.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Jakob; children, Josef Kunz of Crystal Lake, Martin (Beverly) Kunz of Fairfield, WA, Susanna (Peter) Sutherland of Santa Rosa, CA, and Phylis (Nathan) Valles of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Martin (Nicole) and Kimberly Kunz, Jennifer and Andrew Sutherland, and Barbara Lowden; great-granddaughters, Kendall and Karson Kunz; and brother, Martin (Rosina) Hedrich of Crystal Lake.

The visitation will be Saturday, April 11, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Inurnment will be private.
