Born in Cleveland Heights, OH, he passed away after a brief illness Tuesday, Aug 17 following ICU care at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL Ralph cherished his wife, Carmen, his church community and his five children. Still active in retirement, Ralph loved to play golf, upgrade his computer, play cards (bridge), explore the bible, his faith, family and friends, the "Sage Men" group through church and attend grandchildren?s sporting events. Emeritus Professor of Pharmacology (BS,MS Ohio University; PhD University of Iowa), Ralph taught for 45 years at the College of Pharmacy, University of Illinois Chicago Circle (1955 -2000). Expert, speaker, and author of journal articles relating to bio-rhythms, drug efficacies, geriatric trauma, and other topics; even in retirement he continued research on emergency room issues. Involved in community affairs, he served as President of North Suburban Library System, President of Palatine Library, President of McHenry Library and Senior Warden at St. Phillips Church in Palatine. Ralph is survived by his treasured wife Carmen (nee Stoelting) of Lake Barrington; brother Earl (wife Helen) of Virginia Beach, VA; five children: Christopher Morris (wife Christine) of Johnsburg, Kirk Morris (wife Vickie) of Gurnee, Timothy Morris of Hebron, Todd Woods of Portland, OR and Melissa Copeland (nee Morris) of Maineville, OH (with first wife Virginia Balmes, nee Lynn); stepchildren; Chris Eklund (husband Pelle) of Edwards, CO, Kurt Mueller (wife Barb) of Wauwatosa, WI, and Brett Mueller. Proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 5 step-grandchildren.
