Randall S. “Randy” Kamptner, of Barrington Hills, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2020 at the age of 52. He was born on August 7, 1967 in Park Ridge, IL to Thomas and Carolyn (nee Gampetro) Kamptner.
Randy was a talented musician and possessed an unmatched eye for design. He was admired as a producer and creator in his workplace and enjoyed storytelling, laughing, hiking, board games, fast cars, and browsing estate sales for mid-century modern finds. When he was not the "man with the plan," he was a master of looking like he knew what he was doing—that way, he claimed, no one will ask any questions. He exuded a spirit of unshakeable faith, the absence of which will be felt intensely—those who knew him are able to look to his example for a life lived with a vibrant sense of humor and a tenacious sense of hope.
Randy is deeply missed by his loving wife, Laura (nee Brandel); children, Isabella (21), Benjamin (17); his parents Thomas and Carolyn; his siblings Thomas and David. His absence is experienced profoundly by all who received the blessing of knowing him.
Memorial visitation will be held from 9 AM until 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 E. Algonquin Road, South Barrington, IL. A memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, following the visitation at church.
